Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Next time you feel that way just let that thought float by. See it as your alcoholism, recognize it, smile and wave and move on.
In early sobriety I needed distractions and new behaviours. I still do. Then I'd go to a meeting, often, sometimes more than one a day. I'd go for a run, a walk, a movie. I'd call a friend. Just don't act on the alcoholic pattern and soon it changes.
I remember when I first quit, my addicted brain played all kinds of tricks on me. I would call my AA sponser numerous times to tell him about my crazy thoughts and he helped me change my perspective.
It helps to get suggestions on how others handle this and many above me already have offered some great ones so I hope you use some. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
God Bless!
