Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

This weekend, both Saturday and Sunday, my husband and I went to our County Fair.
I really had a great time, seeing all the vendors and exhibits, enjoying all the "fair food" and music venues. Also witnessed a lot of drinking and various degrees of drunkenness. Some friends and co-workers we spoke to were obviously well sotted.
When leaving the fair, I remarked to my husband that even if I could drink like a "normal" person ( and I KNOW this is impossible), I didn't see how a beer or two could have contributed anything to my enjoyment of the fair. I made me realize once again that I am truly in a position of neutrality when it comes to alcohol.
Gained through working (and continuing to work) the 12 steps of AA.

Can you identify these rom-coms from just a screenshot from the middle of the films? This is a multiple choice quiz so even if you're not entirely sure you can always take a guess and at least have a 25% chance of getting it right anyway, so why not have a go?! https://www.buzzfeed.com/alysaurus688/rom-com-screenshot-trivia-quiz

Last week I was at business meetings and for the evening we (about 40 people) all went to a bar for three hours of cocktails and h'or doerves. They had menus out with specialty drinks -- lots of different martinis -- lots of food, too.
I realized when I left that I totally did not care about the drinking. It was such a non issue for me. If I thought I could have a drink like a "normal" person, I think I still would have said no.
It wasn't so easy when I first quit, but I gotta say, I like this not caring about drinking and not missing it one bit!
:-)
It's a groovy place to be - thanks for the reminder!
