Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

We believed alcohol or other drugs could help us control our happiness. But now were learning to rely on faith for our happiness.
Faith is about leaving things to our Higher Powers control. Instead of wanting the control ourselves, we trust our Higher Power will help us handle things that come along.
In recovery, we work at having more faith. Faith in a Higher Power. Faith in the Steps. Faith in our groups. Faith that our lives will get better, if we dont use chemicals and we work an honest recovery program. Faith makes life a lot easier.
Prayer for the Day.
Higher Power, surround me in Your love. Give me strength to do the hard things. Give me faith to know that I will not be alone.
Action for the Day.
Today, Ill notice how I still want to control. Ill remind myself that its okay to Let Go and Let God.

With Faith that took a while. I like that saying Fear knocked at the door Faith opened it and there was no one there. This reminds me of my recovery my life was based around fear and until I found faith there was no way of letting go of that fear. God has been able to do for me what I was unable to do for myself.
One thing on letting go .When I was early in recovery and my life was becoming better I wanted my family my siblings to have what I was feeling. They all were affected by alcoholism in one way or another. And when one of my brothers came to me for help with his alcoholism I was only to happy to help.
I was able to help him get into a rehab and be there for support. He also had a court appearance coming up DUI and possession.
After the court chase he was put on good behavior bond and fined, no jail sentence.
He stopped going to AA and was back into the drugs before to long he said he wasnt drinking but must have developed a bad cough because I found bottles of cough mixture around his room. The cough mixture had an alcohol content of 8.5 percent. Cunning baffling and powerful.
I couldnt understand why he choose to go back to his old life at the time after a few months of recovery.
It was getting me down I talked to my sponsor about it and he said to me I had to let my brother go. Let go and let God. He said God got you here and maybe He will get your brother here to.
To cut a even longer story short . I fond this one of the hardest things to do but again my sponsor was right. The stress I was going through had an effect on all those around me.
But when I was able to Let Go and Let God. Things started to get better for me. I wish I could say things got better for my brother but he was to go through a lot more pain and heartache.
Well thats enough almost another book.
