Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

But I think it is also okay to say when you don't like something. You know, for people who read this stuff and think, "How the heck can I get sober when so many people talk about AA and I can't get into it?"
AA is going to survive my honesty and the people who come here are capable of making decisions based on more than a constant flow of positive comments.
And for me. I come here to learn and to discuss alcoholism as well as share my experiences and thoughts. What's wrong with that?
If I read that quote blindly with no idea where it was from, I'd think it was from some fundamental religious or political group.
But if it helps, power to you!

I was a hopeless drunk that could not make it thru lunch before I had a few beers, then about 5-6 more at a bar after work, then buy a 12 pack on the way home. I was hopeless. I had tried to quit so many times. Aa gave me a path. I was stubborn but my first aa mtg in earnest was june9 12. My last drink , this time was June 10. I would be dead if aa was not around. I'm not saying it's the only way but it worked for me!! ( if I can stay connected with my disease, I can manage it)
Suffering silently only created a neurotic little boy, be it sober Or Not!!!!
Ol fashion Sunday go to meeting cloths...rings in Nostalgia for Me But I get to examine the bristling hair on the back of my neck as old stuff examined and justly discarded for something new. To assimilate is to swallow and ingest and learn to try something else anew YOu!!:)))
