Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
At least that's what I tell myself to try to make some sense of it. This morning my wife and I had brunch, bought plants, visited her mom and enjoyed the overdue nice weather.
This afternoon we attended my grandson's 8th birthday party and visited with friends and family , worked a little in her yard and played soccer with my 11 year old granddaughter ( who for some reason has improved more this year than I have?)
A day about spring, renewal and life.
But in between we visited my stepdaughter's ( more like a daughter) grave she was 32 and OD'ed on heroine in December. What kind of Mother's Day was that for my wife?

Watching the trees in the garden change from little buds to a sea of green in maybe 10 days. Same garden same tree's 27 years on but I dont recall being so aware of it.
Mortality coming to terms with completing another decade on this Planet in a few months hopefully, Am I more aware of these things because i'm in recovery, getting old or both LOL
Deaths from heroin have been on the rise -- it is a major problem. Addiction and death from it -- whether it is drugs or alcohol seems so senseless and sad.
I am so sorry you lost your stepdaughter. A beautiful spring day full of life and family is wonderful. Fortunately the heart can feel joy even alongside grief of an incredibly difficult loss.
