Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

It's days like today where I am so grateful for all the amazing friends I made once I finished drinking 7 months ago and all the support I get from A.A meetings. I have an amazing life because of it where I can do normal everyday things, the only thing I can't do is drink normally which I have now accepted.
I do like to encourage people to go to A.A because I was one of those people who tried to do it on my own but tried different ways every time like getting new jobs, losing weight, buying new clothes, planning on moving or making more money...all these things are great but they never solved the problem in me.
I always remember people saying walking into an AA room for the first time is the most terrifying thing they've done but also the best thing. It brings you new friends who know exactly what you've been through and the longer my sobriety goes and the further I get through the 12 steps I feel like a human being who can finally be a part of life and not alone drinking in my room everyday.
The only advice I can give to anyone who is really willing to get the happiness you quite rightly deserve is to get yourself to a meeting, go to 7 different meetings in 7 days so you can see how various meetings are different and how each one can benefit you. If you're not happy with what you have seen or are not willing to do what they ask after 7 days then the choice is yours, you can hang around longer or head off again and do your own thing, but I would love to be able to share the happiness abs freedom with those who still feel trapped as I know what a dark place it can be.
Any questions please do not hesitate to message me

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

God Bless!

I am one of those guys who felt like he was winging it his whole life, full of ego and fear.
I'm such a better person, who cares about others, and it's all because of the program.
Great share for the newly sober person that thinks keeping themselves "busy" will keep them sober.
