Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Thanks for these quotes. But I just want to say that the preachy, scolding tone in that Hazelden book.has always turned me off. And I'm not alone here, as this was the main reason why the AA "Daily Reflections" book was published, as an alternative to Hazelden's, in the first place.
I know many in recovery who are loyal to Hazelden and who swear by the theme of sin & repentance that runs through their literature. But there are also many of us who have achieved lasting and happy sobriety without bringing any of that particular sort of moral theology into the process, and I just want to mention that once again.
Be well friend
Good point, and there's a real a difference between "practicing these principles in all our affairs" and prattling these platitudes in someone else's.
