Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
What am i going today for AA?Is there someone I should call up on the telephone or someone I should go see?Is there a letter I should write?Is there a opportunity somewhere to advance the work of AA, that i have been putting off or neglecting? If so, will i do it today? Will I be done with procrastination and do what have to do today? Tomorrow may be to late. How do I know there will be a Tomorrow for me? How about getting out of my easy chair and getting going? Do i feel AA depends partly on me today?

I have a bad situation coming up today and I want to go to a motel for a few days. That is not the solution.
What am I going to do? Prove AA works
In me
First of all I have a responsibility statement, which I take very seriously, because my life, and the lives of countless alcoholics may depend upon it.
"When anyone anywhere reaches out, I want the hand of A.A. always to be there, and for that I am responsible"
The opperative word being, (I).
I also must be vigilant with how I behave and what I say, as I may be the only Big Book somebody ever sees. If my behavior or speech is not very responsible or accountable I can quite easily give Alcoholics Anonymous a bad name, and therefore turn someone away to die, thinking A.A. does not have a solution to their alcoholism.
When I am in a meeting, or on line representing recovery in A.A., I need to remain true to our primary purpose and speak of my alcoholism, even tho my experience may have drugs, food, sex, or money addiction involved within it, if someone listening to me has never experienced anything but alcoholism, they may not identify with me or A.A., and I could be sending them out to die, thinking A.A. has no answer for them.
I have been given a solution for my fatal disease today, and I have been returned to having a Power Great enough to keep me sober today in spite of myself and the disease of alcoholism. If I remain aware of my duty of accountability (ablility to be counted upon), responsibility ( ability to respond), and committment to an intimate relationship with this Power, a daily reprieve will be given me, and much, much more than I could ever dream of.
I am so grateful for the contented recovery I experience on a daily basis (as long as I take action and do the work) and I can show this gratitude thru many activities for A.A., and I can contribute to it's continued success in keeping alcoholics alive, happy, joyous, and free!!!!
