Day 8

Good Morning --

Today is day 8 for me. I spent last night starting to look for / look through stuff related to the unexpected IRS "audit" which wasn't fun but I was better than drinking!

Tonight I'm joining some friends for a trivia fundraiser event which should be fun and tomorrow my wife and I are planning to go see the new James Bond movie so I'll be out of the house and busy which is always a good thing.

My previous "streak" of not drinking was 11 and then 9 days (with one bad day in between) so I went 20 of 21 days. I don't remember what happened on day 22 but I think I must have gotten drunk and then gave up trying to quit. So today is day 8 after a 12 day run so I'm back at 20 of 21 days but this time I am confident and motivated to keep going.

RW I am humbled in your strength to keep in the fight. Many would have thrown in the towel but it appears that you will never quit quitting and I am in your corner that you find that peace.

I truly pray that this quit is your solution quit.

As for the new James Bond movie the wife and youngest went and seen it our last night. Was going to see it myself early next week but after the missus arrived at home and told me about the movie I can save the $15, I know the whole movie now.

It always helped me to keep track like you are doing also, and if I needed to vent about a problem in my life I would always go talk with....someone who would lend an ear and give me some positive feedback without enabling. Friends like that are hard to find which is why I come to ds. :)

Just got home from the trivia benefit. We didn't win but we had lots of fun. Off to bed now, day 8 "in the books" with work and James Bond on the schedule for tomorrow.

    check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

     I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
