I've been gone for awhile and have fell to my bottom. Got sent to a crisis center for 3 days for drinking myself unconscious. I'm going to do this with or without my family's support, as they continue to drink daily. DAY 1

I'm sorry you bottomed out but the good news is there is only one direction to go from down:))
It must be hard to not have the support of your family. You are in the right place because I know that despite also having family members that drink frequently there are many on here that are managing to abstain themselves.

Many of us have to hit a low before we will get sober. Like forest said, there is only one way to go now and thats up. Don't let the others drag you back down to that hell you were in. Now you will lead by example and show the others how happy you are in your newfound sobriety! In time, they will follow!

When you are in a rut you have two choices. You can stay in the rut and decorate it or climb out, dust yourself off and go on with life without alcohol.
I chose the latter. My brother died in the rut.

Welcome back! My husband was drinking daily when I quit. There was nothing I could do about that, but I could climb out of the drinking hell I had fallen into. And I did. So can you.

    check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

     I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
