Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

wanted to sneak to the country store at about 9 last night and make up an excuse to my husband. hes fully aware. But I rode the urge, turned on some utube aa speakers and woke up on day two with no booze. still scared. I appreciate all the support and encouragement. felt good to not have a hangover. lots of anxiety though. drinking herbal tea again t help with the anxiety. I know Im safe till I get off work at 6. that's a danger zone for me. stopping to by my little four pack of wine on the way home. so the plan is to call my husband and get out of town safely.

I had my after work routine down too. Stopped at the same convenience store every night. Saw the other regulars there too. Like a fueling station for alcohol addicts. I wonder if the guy at the counter is missing me after 3 months of my not showing up? Oh well, he has a lot of other addicted customers to keep the business going.

beyond being in here, have you seen a professional about your anxiety? I've used alcohol as well to calm that demon and have also used herbal teas.

Go you! The anxiety is so difficult! It will feel great when it passes and you're free :)

In the beginning when the urges were strong I would 'delay' my using. Example: I'm coming home from work and want to stop to get liquor. I say to myself ' I'll do it tomorrow' and continue home. Procrastination and distraction were great friends when it meant putting off using until tomorrow. If I can stop so can you. All the best.
