Aha! I love those kind of extraordinary moments. I'm glad you got back to meetings Bob, finding acceptance and coming to terms with whatever is standing in the way can be rough going. I have my moments too and that's often when contact with other alcoholics helps me in unexpected ways. Having a chat over coffee after a meeting or some message I might have heard a lot in shares suddenly brings some understanding to light that never struck me that way before.

God/HP can and does move in some mysterious ways.

the Daily Reflections Book i have was given to me. as i read your thread i thought of that. so i looked for a name. sure enough, old Donnie. gone but not forgotten. i was looking at the new AA book i bought and i see its just new to me. its always fun to see what other people have underlined

I'd need a Godincidence very much as well, having a few problems and also I can relate with struggling with acceptance. I'm sure that God will find a way to help me as He did to you. I need to go to a meeting, I really do.

Thanks, and I don't believe incoincidence because it happens too often but lately I had been thinking not often enough and was envious of other similar stories I had heard at AA meetings in the past and thinking, why can't some of that stuff happen to me.

There was a chapter I read in the EHA 12 steps book which said to think of prayer as the uplink in God's internet and meditation as the download or, waiting for an answer. That out Higher Power is is talking to us 24/7 but most of the time we don't hear because negative emotions like anger, hate, envy, jealousy etc, are all blocks in that communication link we all have with our Higher Power and we need to let go of those emotions and give them to God.

Prayer and meditation, Is something that like anything in life, takes practice. We are spoken to in signs and symbols and we just need to be aware and learn to interpret them.

I am thankful for AA and for everything I have been through in my life. It has taught me some valuable lessons and introduced me to my Higher Power who has made my life worth living!

Good to hear things are better today bob Not been on for a while but I was feeling a bit that way myself couple of days ago even though I'm on holiday LOL
I started thinking of those key ideas suggestions aceptance grattitude keeping it simple one day at a time I actually wanted to read the story on acceptance in the book but havent got it with me and my wi fi signal is on and off Anyway just thinking through those reliable basic principles sorted it for me I am on the costa del sol so should beable to get to a meeting I know on saturday I hope

Is that book the 'Doctors, Alcoholic, Addict' except from the 3rd edition? ( Acceptance was the Answer - 4th ed)?

Or, is it an expansion on that story? I'd sure like to check it out...
