Pica in spanish can mean it burns in the mouth (like chilli pepper) or it itches on the skin. Can you expand a little

I worked with a little boy who ate paint off the wall-it is a nervous disorder, sort of like when someone pulls out there hair or picks at their skin. There is treatment for it mayday-is it you that is suffering from this? It is like a nervous tick via eating weird stuff basically. PM me if you need info-I could find something. It is interesting to me.

No Bato I've not heard of a link don't know much about it. Wonder if I might have a touch of it! I think i just always need something in my mouth if i'm not drinking, i'm eating, I've managed to give up alcohol and cigarettes but something always comes along to take its place, diet coke, sugar free polos and the rest... just wondering what other people experiences were

I don't think that's pica. That's just comfort eating...which can develop into addiction. I crave sweets sometimes, especially after I quit smoking.

I'll see if I can find anything else out about pica. I think it's a psychological condition.

We are so compulsive. I have strong oral fixations. I'm always putting something in my mouth, whether it's a pen or pencil...but I don't eat them. lol I just like to chew on things. Not so great for my teeth. lol

We had to be very careful with cig buts around mentaly handcapped adults because they would eat them.

holy, I had a friend that would drive out to the country and dig up fresh cold dirt when she was pregnant...but here in Texas, she probably put gravy on it...LOL

Although when I was pregnant, I preferred nachos with extra jalapenos, I skipped the dirt. :)
