Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Great job on staying sober! You should feel good about yourself -- this is quite an accomplishment!
If your liver is fine and all is normal, I hope you plan to stick with sobriety.
Stay in the "now" as best you can---harder to do than say, yes. But if you're worrying it means you've already assumed the worst. Stay positive and take care of only today; your thoughts, your actions, your peace of mind.
The liver, like the lungs, can work wonders at repairing themselves when give a fair fighting chance. Staying sober is providing you and your liver that opportunity.
Something that sounds trite but I have found helps me in situations where we have to wait but have a lot riding on the outcome:
You don't know until you know, and worrying does no good, only harm.
If it were your friend in your shoes, would you tell them, "Yeah, I would be worried if I were you! You should be concerned." Hopefully not. Similarly, learning to be a caring and loving friend to yourself is a powerful tool for getting sober.
Peace of mind, sobriety and health.
