Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
The journal entry I made on my first week sober contains some of the revelations I had that seemed to be making this attempt at stopping more success than previous ones.

Just jump in and post topics, make friends, make journal entries and before long folks will be helping you on your journey. And on sleep, the first couple of weeks after quitting it seems insomnia is common, but after that sleep comes easier and is more restful. Definitely worth making this change in your life!
Your story sounds very familiar. We all have similar backgrounds. I would suggest you continue communicating with this group and also educate yourself on your addiction to alcohol. After reading all I could find about the alcohol addiction I was convinced that the only solution for me was to quit ingesting any alcohol. I would consider you to be one step ahead in that you have already realized and admit you have an addiction. Once you do that it is much easier to develop an action plan that works for you. Quitting alcohol can be easy or difficult, but I am convinced that the biggest obstacle is convincing yourself that you actually will be happier and healthier living a natural and alcohol free lifestyle. I can honestly say that I have found that to be the case for me.
It's a really great group. Hope you are able to find support and encouragement here!

My difficulties with alcohol are similar to yours. It was "just to take the edge off" on occasion. Then it became more or less regular. Then one drink wouldn't do it. Then I would drink until I just feel asleep (or passed out, depending on how you look at it).
Good for you for having the courage to realize what was going on, and take steps to change. It will be work, but it's totally worth it.
30 days sober for me. I have a clear mind. I sleep better. I am more productive, and my family relationships are more calm. Plus - as a bonus - I have dropped a few unwanted pounds.
Just keep reading here. I'm sure you will find the encouragement that you seek.
I used to drink to cover my physical pain. Then I just drank to get drunk.
The people here are a great support system.
Welcome to you also, Parth.
Congrats, TT and NeedHelp on your 30 days.
