Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Addiction is absolutely a psychological illness. The fact that we physically rewire once we are addicted should tell us something. The fact that it re-programs us into "self-destruct" should be a definite other.
When I got to where you are now, I started considering a program-be it of my own making or something like AA as a security deposit, to ensure that I wouldn't go back.
Remember, that once you get far along it doesn't mean you can have JUST ONE. That is the trickiest part, this eventual considering that now you are far enough along that "just one" won't hurt. All it takes is one to get us right back where we started.
Keep going! There are so many more rewards to discover in sobriety that it's truly an exciting journey!!!
Keep doing what you're doing that's working for you.
Keep it up!!!
So true. I got sober because I just couldn't stand my life anymore. I desperately wanted to stop. Didn't know how until I walked through the doors of AA.
Thank you for the inspiring message!
