Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

My stbx is an alcoholic. I hear him in the bathroom every morning and has diarrhea and he coughs so hard it is almost like he is going to vomit (and maybe he does). He snores BAD. Is completely out of breath when he walks the 13 steps upstairs to come to bed. He will not admit he is an alcoholic because then the party will be over. He is 44 and hangs out with a bunch of drunks. He doesn't care that he has lost his wife and unfortunately his kids won't admit he has a problem because one says "He drinks, but doesn't drink to get drunk." And the other says "It is a choice. He doesn't get drunk EVERY weekend." So I asked the one child that if I were addicted to cocaine it "Is a choice?" No big deal? My kids don't want to admit their father has a problem. He is fat. He has metabolic syndrome. He is a loser. He has suffered pneumonia twice within 1 year. He is probably (by now) a full-blown diabetic. I made him have a physical last year and he was pre-diabetic. His Kidney levels were barely within range at that time as well and the doctor just told him to eat more fruits and vegetables and lay off processed food. NEVER said to cut down on the alcohol though!!!
Any thoughts?????
