I am so frustrated right now....with myself mainly....I just feel angry.... I want to be better already....like now....I feel like I had so much anger in me today....
I attempted two different times to go to a meeting and backed out both times...what is wrong with me....
Okay, So was off today, got up early and got ready to go to a meeting, looked one up, and headed out....well, got there and did not see where to go into this church, the whole basement thing is so confusing, and I was a little late...ahhh...so I left...
Second time....tonight at 7p, found a meeting, know the location, went there, couldn't find a place to park and well I backed out AGAIN....why am I doing this to myself, why cant I just do it already?

Has anyone else had this problem? I am frustrated with myself...I wish I had the guts to walk in there and be proud, I don't....I am so nervous and I allow those feelings , insecurities to win over....I hate it....

I will not drink over this but I know I have to just do it soon.....ahhh....help me.....can someone please come to Ky, hand hold my hand...lol...joking of course....

holycrap Ashley...that sounds familiar! :) I have been going more often the past week & I don't know why I have to drag myself in because I always come out feeling better. Makes no sense!

Lets hold hands & go in together shall we???

Jim found an AA group so close to me it is ridiculous but in the neighborhood I live in it is most likely 100% Spanish speaking. I don't know if I'm scared to find out if it is or scared to find out if it isn't.

You can always come to TX!!! I would be more than happy to sit with you in an AA meeting. One of the most wonderful feelings I have ever had was introducing myself as an alchy to a bunch of strangers. It was truly liberating to admit that I was powerless over alcohol. I always wondered what was wrong with me. Gee, I am alchy. It made things alot more simple. Now the good stuff gets done and I am getting better; day by day.

When I was at meetings, I felt a great relief come over me. I could just let go and there were people there to help me. In early sobriety, I was at peace when I was at a meeting. The more I went, the more I wanted to go. I'd get there early and chat to people outside, they were more than happy to take me on in. After, I'd help tidy up and chat some more. Ashley, you didn't get drunk overnight, so your not going to get better overnight. It's going to take a little effort on your part to get to meetings, and take it from there, one day at a time. yep.sure sounds familiar to me. i took it as a sign from Goid if everything went perfectly. if not, i took it as a sign it was someone (maybe the man downstairs)f'n with me. now, i'm taken to meetings and whatever my perception my ass sits in the chair. been working swimmingly well.......lol!

I went today! :) I feel sooooo good too. It was even better than I could of hoped for, this meeting. It was only a few blocks away and it was away diverse group...It amazed me hope I could still relate so much to everything that was being said. It was girls 6th year birthday...and hearing how people talked talked about her was so inspiring.
The meeting was about "principles before personality" I really need it...I could relate so much, and it I would of seen some of these people (who inspired me) I would of thought we had nothing in comon, we really have everything in common.
I realized today I am just another drunk, trying to stay sober like everyone else in those rooms.
Oh, I AM SOOOO GLAD I went today and I look forward to going back very soon....
It is a very large group but I liked it because I could just sit back and listen...
Everyone was so nice too...I even seen this one guy who used to do security at one of my past jobs..I always knew he was special...lol....I was shock at first but he hugged me and I knew we where in the same boat...it was so great...
I am in such a good mood now....I even got some other stuff done already and its still early :)

I go through this every time I change rooms. Here is the thing to remember... all those strangers inside have everything in common with you. They are friends just waiting to happen. This place this room (ANY ROOM) always feels like home once you get in there.
