Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
It takes time and patience.
Other than AA?
Willpower, support from family and friends and keeping the reason you are qutting the foremost thought in your mind!
Good luck to you!
I think it's true with all of us.
Try to start socializing with sober people. AA would work, and Church isn't a bad idea either. Once you get used to interacting with people while you are sober, you'll get your confidence back.
Also, try to figure out what you like to do in life, and begin doing it. I would imagine there are activities that you stopped doing because you were busy drinking. Think about picking them up again.
Why is it we forget to give credit to the most important people in our lives. (?)
(And no, I'm far from being hugely religious but He is the only one that answered my screams for help almost 15 years ago.)
I also get MUCH support from all my friends here at DS.
MUCH more than the real life persons in my life.
