Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I took my last drink. And 365 days ago, I woke up with my last hangover. And my first sober day. And started having hope, finding joy, and seeking serenity in my life.
I started like most of you, my story is not unique. I don't remember my first drunk, but I remember my last. My life was insane, out of control. I loved wine, I loved escaping, ignoring, not taking responsibility for anything. I didn't think I was hurting anyone. Until I drove drunk with my daughter in the car. By the grace of G-d and pure luck, I made it home. And knew I had hit my bottom. My husband yelling at me for years prior didn't do it. My kids knowing the wine guy didn't do it. Neither did my finances, my health, my friends, my drunk father, my messy house, my forgetfulness... Nothing.
I walked in with no hope. Today I have hope. I have the love of everyone, plus more in the fellowship. It hasn't been easy, but I've done it honestly, and the way my Sponsor said to.
Thank you to EVERYONE on here. I check/read daily. Even those who just write once and leave mean something. Blue violet, PJ and many more have helped me without even knowing. And more I can't even remember. I lost 2 dear friends this week. One to this disease and another to cancer. 40 and 41 years old. But I'm sober. And feeling.
Sorry for the novel. But thank you. Ya'll mean so much and keep coming back!

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

Peace be the Journey.
Take care.
Congrats and keep it up

Thank you for your inspirational story!
Your story can give hope and inspiration to people who are suffering right now and who cant see a way to fix it. There is always hope and where there is willingness, there is a solution.
Keep with it and you may find that in the words of the Sinatra song, The Best is Yet to Come.
hugs
ps sorry about the two friends who live with GOD now...just knowing that is important!
