Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I trusted myself that I had the power to quit and I made it. Others need support groups like AA, but I have the personality, where groups are more of a hindrance for me. You need to find out which way is your calling and follow it. You can try AA and if it is not good for you, try something else. I tried AA, LifeRing and Smart Recovery. Nothing helped, until I learned Mindful mediation. That did the trick for me. Each of us is unique. You need to find what works best for you. Trust yourself and go for it.
I suggest trying to figure what is the need to booze it up. Why did I drink? To escape from me
It is possible to turn the tables on booze if you want to
1-2
When I was drinking I genuinely believed my own excuses and the ways I used to justify it. Then there came a day when I could no longer con myself. At that point I admitted that drinking was a big problem and reluctantly became willing to face reality. Later I also came to accept that reality and the fact that my own attempts at sobriety were likely to be no more successful than they had been in the past. At that point I became willing to do whatever it took to get sober.
My wife also pointed out my drinking, although she never nagged about it. At the end of the day, it was my responsibility to fix the problem. The alternative to doing nothing had become much more fearful than swallowing my pride and looking for help.
