Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I can so relate though. I had a moment yesterday afternoon, where I just really wanted a drink too. It scared me. I moved through it, went for a run last night and thought about it, prayed, put it in my god box and asked my HP to remove it.
This morning in my home group it was revealed what triggered it and I'm SO grateful I didnt drink over it. The why is sort of irrelevant but the lesson for me is a reinforcement of how powerful, baffling, cunning this disease is. My disease doesnt care that I have 14 months today. It doesnt care that I work a program. It doesnt care that the promises are starting to come true for me and that my family and I are so happy. It doesnt care. It just doesnt want to be uncomfortable for ONE minute. And yesterday i was uncomfortable for a good portion of the day.
Anyway, I hope you share about what is causing you to want to pick up. I hope you can turn it over, get rid of it, and move on in sobriety. I hope that for you, and for me, and for all the alcohlics who struggle and want to stay sober.
