Alcohol Recovery Without 12 Steps Community Group
This group was created to explore various recovery paths for Alcoholism. We generally chose to explore paths outside of the AA model, or ones which incorporate, but are not limited to AA. Anyone wanting to learn and explore how to become free from alcohol addiction are welcome. Our main goal is to support each other with compassion and decency, while remaining open minded...
Just gave up weed 5 weeks ago.
If AA is all you have known it can be a little scary to try something else because you have probably heard from others that that is trying to take the easier way. That is not true. I work way harder at improving my life than I ever did before and I believe that most others in this group are the same. This isn't about an easy way it's about doing what works for you. There is a wealth of info out there an I believe there is a wealth of good info in this group along with a great group of people who will be more than willing to help you find what will work for you.
I obviously don't blame AA. It's a wonderful program and I benefit greatly esp from the fellowship. I just think I need more of life action and less talk about alcohol. Not sure.
Thanks for the feeback. Very encouraging.
My ticket to freedom from booze was a 10 stay in rehab. Now, I don't always have my shit/head all together, and so making meetings would be a good thing I'm sure, but I don't feel I need them to stay sober. Just to learn better HowToLive. (o;
Love ya, Anna!
