Agoraphobia & Social Anxiety Support Group
Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder, often precipitated by the fear of having a panic attack in a setting from which there is no easy means of escape. As a result, sufferers of agoraphobia may avoid public and/or unfamiliar places. In severe cases, the sufferer may become confined to their home, experiencing difficulty traveling from this "safe place."
Just wondering. I am very curious as to its causes. I can't be agoraphobic because I live alone and I wouldn't be able to get anything done if I didn't get out. I have to have food and I live in the country and can't order in. But I have no fear of staying in. How do you get anything done?
I too have been traumatized but it doesn't stop me from getting out. I have been deeply hurt and was hurt by a close male friend recently. He called me all kinds of names. He was verbally abusive and I had to stop being his friend. I have to learn to move on and stand up for myself.
