Agoraphobia & Social Anxiety Support Group
Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder, often precipitated by the fear of having a panic attack in a setting from which there is no easy means of escape. As a result, sufferers of agoraphobia may avoid public and/or unfamiliar places. In severe cases, the sufferer may become confined to their home, experiencing difficulty traveling from this "safe place."
First of all...if this guy cares about you--he will understand:) Second...have you tried Xanax yet? It has really helped me. Also, I would suggest this...keep some candy or gum near you...when you feel the gag coming on...use the gum or candy...it should moisten your sinus cavities and help with the gag??
Hang in there! There are a lot of sufferers on this site who will also lend helpful advice!
Smartest thing I ever did was tell him straight out that I have agoraphobia and that I was really interested in getting to know him and just wanted him to know so I could relax a bit.
He was interested in what was going on with me and it made things so much easier.
