Agoraphobia & Social Anxiety Support Group
Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder, often precipitated by the fear of having a panic attack in a setting from which there is no easy means of escape. As a result, sufferers of agoraphobia may avoid public and/or unfamiliar places. In severe cases, the sufferer may become confined to their home, experiencing difficulty traveling from this "safe place."
Weekes method is all about losing your fear of your symptoms, whether its tensions, the shakes, churning stomach or whatever. Or the feeling of panic itself.
So whenever you panic and feel shaky outside instead f tensing against it you loosen as much as possible, and instead of running away GO INTO the fear.
After time, from repeatedly letting yourself open up to the fear willingly you lose your fear of it. You learn to live with ear. You get to see that fear. although frightening, is just a feeling, just a old bogey that only holds power over you if you fear it and make it important.
