Agoraphobia & Social Anxiety Support Group
Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder, often precipitated by the fear of having a panic attack in a setting from which there is no easy means of escape. As a result, sufferers of agoraphobia may avoid public and/or unfamiliar places. In severe cases, the sufferer may become confined to their home, experiencing difficulty traveling from this "safe place."
I try not to talk about my "issues" too much with others, and when I do for some reason I always try to make it into a joke. I think I do that partly so they'll stay entertained and not think I'm too much of a whiner and also to down play to myself just how horrible I really feel all the time.
Once I see they're going into theglassed eyed look I'll usually change the subject pretty quick.
I all honesty I have lost quite a few "friends" since my symptoms have become worse, but my true friends are still around and love me no matter what.
I don't chat a lot about my problems offline, except in a social anxiety support group. In that environment I try to contribute but not hog the floor.
I say if the person is still responding, you're good! You could always talk about it with your friend. I'm sure he/she would be happy to help you through it seeing we all have similar issues.
BTW, I've had conversation with KT and she is a great conversationalist.
