Agoraphobia & Social Anxiety Support Group
Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder, often precipitated by the fear of having a panic attack in a setting from which there is no easy means of escape. As a result, sufferers of agoraphobia may avoid public and/or unfamiliar places. In severe cases, the sufferer may become confined to their home, experiencing difficulty traveling from this "safe place."

For some, I'm sure the illness comes and then goes, with nary a look back.
For others, such as myself, working on my 18th year of dealing with this. I've been in large crowds by myself, and I've been housebound. I've given presentations at my work, and then I've had trouble driving anywhere. It comes and goes with me, and I've done the whole "been to this and that and the other, so I'm cured" and I've had the rug pulled out from under me on numerous occasions. I've done almost every kind of therapy out there, some alternative ones too, and I'm still here, at home, on disability now because I'm tired of lovingrecovering lovingrecovering lovingrecovering (to quote the Tragically Hip) and that I'm now going to not fight it so much, but accept that for me, it is a cycle, and the least stressful way for me to deal with this is to be on permanent disability and find other ways to be self-sufficient or make my way through life.
Again, well done for you!
Each of us has the right to be here free from shaming ourselves or accepting the shame others may try to place upon us. I want to remind myself of that each day.
