Agoraphobia & Social Anxiety Support Group
Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder, often precipitated by the fear of having a panic attack in a setting from which there is no easy means of escape. As a result, sufferers of agoraphobia may avoid public and/or unfamiliar places. In severe cases, the sufferer may become confined to their home, experiencing difficulty traveling from this "safe place."
Ha ha, yes I am one of those peole who finds e-mailing easier than actually speaking to someone, rather than the other way around. I like the fact that I can think for longer while writing and I can re-read and edit, unfortunately this is a bit harder to do when speaking face to face!
I think that if it something that you want to do, then just take the plunge with the facebook thing! You will be surprised how quickly 3 or 4 friends can become 20 friends. And the number really doesn't matter, it is just another way of connecting or re-connecting with people.
And I am sure that you are plenty witty, smart, clever, etc! You don't have to say a lot on facebook if you don't want to, you can ease yourself into it.
Good luck and I hope you have some fun with it! :)
so all the facebook people are just that friends on facebook. I post and reply to their posts but outside of that I am not social. I also have made it a point not to have old high school friends on my facebook not like they have looked for me anyway. Ive tried to invite ppl on my FB to lunch but never had any response. It was hard to try to get out of my confort zone to ask and get rejected so I have stopped trying . Some people on my FB are just pictures of people i have met. They dont even msg me or post on my wall. Its depressing. Anyway, welcome to the group!
