Agoraphobia & Social Anxiety Support Group
Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder, often precipitated by the fear of having a panic attack in a setting from which there is no easy means of escape. As a result, sufferers of agoraphobia may avoid public and/or unfamiliar places. In severe cases, the sufferer may become confined to their home, experiencing difficulty traveling from this "safe place."
I think what you need to do is do whatever you need to in order to feel safe.
You can get a Brinks home alarm system, that might help, knowing that if someone were to try and break into the house, you would have a live person on the other end of the phone who calls the police right away and who stays on the phone with you.
The other thing is a self defense class. It does help us with our fear if we know we can defend ourselves if need be.
Get some bear spray and pepper spray and have that at close hand in your night stand or something.
Whatever you need to get in order to feel safe, get.
