Agoraphobia & Social Anxiety Support Group
Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder, often precipitated by the fear of having a panic attack in a setting from which there is no easy means of escape. As a result, sufferers of agoraphobia may avoid public and/or unfamiliar places. In severe cases, the sufferer may become confined to their home, experiencing difficulty traveling from this "safe place."

I have been in pain for a long time so when I finally get an appointment through so I can get some relief, as much as I am feeling anxious and want to hide away as I know I have to go outside was kinda looking forward to some relief.... then they go and cancel me telling me they can't help 24hrs before I was due to go. Ggrrr. Am so angry, disappointed and upset.

I had a simular problem. I called trying to get in to see the dr because of an on going problem that had gotten worse and they tell me they cannot give me an emergency appt. till Mon. which was 4 days later. I guess they go by that saying" That a crisis on your part is not necessarily a crisis on our part." I hope you have gotten seen by now. Good luck.

I have been battling several psychological and physical ailments since 1999. I have decided that the docs work for me...not the other way around. So yesterday at a very important meeting with the rheumatologist...I handed him a list of what I wanted changed...first was raising the cymbalta by 30mg, second was raising the flexeril so I can take 1 during the day and maybe have a little pain relief before bedtime...that was when he was allowing me to take it. The third demand I left him more room for...I've been in the ER 3 times in 2 weeks for fibro pain. I told him I wanted something at my disposal that could keep me out of the ER, and if he didn't come to some meeting of the minds with me over that I was walking downstairs and checking my self into the ER(was having a bad, bad day pain wise) So he prescribed me fentanyl patches. I didn't want to come off as a bitch to him, I like him, but at the same time he's not the one living with a very low quality of life...so we got all of that settled. Sigh. Felt like I had fought in a war by the time I got home. I think the docs need to be reminded on occasion where their paycheck comes from....
