Agoraphobia & Social Anxiety Support Group
Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder, often precipitated by the fear of having a panic attack in a setting from which there is no easy means of escape. As a result, sufferers of agoraphobia may avoid public and/or unfamiliar places. In severe cases, the sufferer may become confined to their home, experiencing difficulty traveling from this "safe place."
I find it helps to get to know a group one on one and then i am able to be in a crowd with all those same people.
Hey obsticle!... that first word there....hmmmm.. kidding. lol.
I am just honest with them. And i have recruited most of them to take me for drives where i work on the agoraphobia, so we actually get to have some fun.
I am not the type to mope around, dwellling on my disorder....it is what it is.
I try to really fight this thing with everything i got....this has included serious diet changes, exercise, stress control and the willingness to put myself in uncomfortable situations.
My friends understand this and they see me working. I will not have them feel sorry for me because i don't feel sorry for me.
