Unfortunately our minds are darkened in how we think God is and perceive everything He tells us (His commandments) as punishments to fulfill instead of the very things that are going to help us. I believe just as Jesus tried, God is calling for us to think beyond the box of traditional Christianity and religion and learned to believe the heart of God (even if it goes in opposition to those around us).

All I have to say is that Revelation is a complicated and perplexing document that meant a lot more to the people it was written to than it ever will to us. All it's really trying to say is that we can find comfort in the fact that the world will not always be terrible and there will be a day when God gets a say in how things turn out. Try to figure it out too awfully far beyond that and you will find yourself in some sort of crazy maze of this meaning that and that meaning this and black is really white and four headed beasts are out to get us. I'm not saying "ignore" Revelation. I'm just saying that it doesn't hold the ultimate key to the Kingdom. Read it, enjoy the imagery, don't try to figure it out too much or trust someone who says they have.

As for the Sabbath... Saturday. That's the official day. So why do we worship on Sunday? Because that's the day Jesus rose and for reasons that seem fairly rational to me, we moved our holy day to Sunday. I doubt God is bent about it.

Actually Saturday is the true Sabbath. I started my religious journey about 30 years ago and started some very serious research including the Greek and Hebrew languages. One of the first things I found was that the traditional Christian teachings concerning this are wrong. Christ did not die on a Friday and rise on a Sunday morning. He died on a Wednesday afternoon and rose on a Saturday afternoon. He rose on a Sabbath day. It is too long to explain on a "post" but if anyone is interested I would be more than happy to either send them or post this subject. I'm just about finished writing my first book and The Resurrection is one of the chapters of such.

The outcome from doing my own research has been that I am no longer religious . . . I am now spiritual and there is a difference. I don't mean to be arrogant by far and respect all people and their beliefs . . . I just may differ is all.

Something that has always confused me about this topic is the declaration of a specific day. There have been many calendars and other methods of measuring the passage of time over the centuries and millenia so how do we know precisely which day of the current week coincides with events 2000 years ago?

I've always taken the Sabbath to be the seventh day, period. That means if I start something on Wednesday and it continues for over a week, I take Teusday off as the day of rest. That's what God did, rested on the seventh day and the days of the week weren't named back then. All this Saturday, Sunday, whatever day is the creation of churches, not God.

THERE MANY SABBATHS MENTIONED IN THE NT. ON THE THREE DAY THE JEWS CONSIDERED IT IF YOU SPENT ONE HOUR IN A TOWN IT WAS COUNTED AS A WHOLE DAY.SATURDAY IS THE SABBATH AND SUNDAY IS THE LORD'S DAY. THE FIRST CHURCH MET ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK TO CELEBRATE CHRIST RESSURECTION SOMETIME AFTER SUNDOWN ON SATURDAY. THE THREE NINETS WERE WED, THUR, AND FRIDAY. THE THREE DAYS WERE THURS, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. YOU WILL READ IN THE GOSPELS WERE JESUS REPEATS THE 10 COMMANDMENTS BUT ONE IS LEFT OUT. THE SABBATH. WE ARE NO LONGER UNDER THE LAW. YOU CAN LEARN THAT FROM PAUL'S EPISTLES. WE ARE NOW UNDER GRACE.

Luk 24:6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
Luk 24:7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

The Chinese Christians (the two from Shanghai, Nee and Lee) write about "God's economy" where Christ has become God's "household measure" for rest. He is our portion, the quantity and quality thereof, and not just a day.

Paul said he was afraid of the Galatians since they had gone back to observing days and months and times and years.
