A group to help support and heal adult survivors of child abuse. Limited to those who want to change the cycle...not perpetuate it.
Im a at home mom of 3 beautiful little angels..2 have a hearing impairment and LD disability..all I ever wanted is children...the only times I get out is once a week or so...just me..thanks to my wonderful husband.
I was abused as a child physically and mentally...I don't remember anything from age 7 under...Im not sure what to do or where to go. I need help with controlling my anger out bursts..I cant stop crying since I hurt my child out of anger...I pray and I know I need to change..if anyone else relates...to this please give me any info...about 4 year ago I started to get depressed...and being a at home mom with 2 boys and 1 girl, is very stressful at times...I have one friend who is by phone...Im on the com. a lot reaching out to make new ones...I have no family or friends in the area, but everyone is always busy or wrapped up in there own life...and found some in ds...and they are going through tough time too..
I remember my gran mom having out bursts of anger, very impatient...I was physically abused by her son, my dad, shot temper too...I don't know if that is something that is passed down? I get irate over the littlest things..but I don't believe in taking drugs...I know I need to learn to control..but how do I control something that is uncontrollable...I noticed I get like this a week before my period..I don't smoke or drugs..I drink almost every weekend...
yesterday I had a wake up call and taken my boy to the hospital..where I threw a toy at him...I so hate myself...I told my H what happened...Im so worried if I tell a counselor the true she will have my kids taken away from me...I don't understand how I did this and saw my son hitting my girl, I snapped...its hard for me to grasp...I have always controlled emotions..but not this time..I been getting worse..I don't know if my hormones changed since my last child...I can't forgive myself or ever will...what it has done to him is what Im worried about inside....this anger is so not me...I always been a laid back person...please help me..anyone..I'm trying to keep together for my family...please no hugs or sympathy..I don't deserve anything...I keep seeing what happened over and over...God help me

i do not believe in the psychiatric profession, primarily because they didn't help me like they should have, therapists in particular. but there probably are good ones out there, and sometimes any help is better than none if you are in a desperate place, and it sounds like you are. what is happening to your children now will be irreversible if you do not get help. i wish someone had taken me away from my father; anything would have been better. you can tell the therapist that you have impulses to do these things rather than say you have done them, that should protect you. you may be able to get a caseworker to help, there may be programs that offer assistance, a therapist would know of them. please put the welfare of your children above your own desires, the emotional damage done to them is far worse than the physical damage, you don't even need to hit them to cripple them for life. i think you know something about what that is like. i'm glad you recognize what is going on and want to change it, don't make them grow up with the burden that you have from what was done to you.
