I am a Dental Assistant in Ohio. Your gingiva (gums) could be swollen do to an infected tooth or irritation. The best thing to do is to go to the dentist and let him/her know. He/she will most likely give you an antibiotic or clean around the tooth to see why your gingiva (gums) are swelling.
