Hi,
I am a mother of two(10 and 4). My children, they are inseparable. You can see them calm and quite at one moment and in the other you can see the same people in a big fight. Yesterday, both 'em were running around in our living room while playing. They started their normal fight in the middle of this. My elder one fell down and smashed his face on a wooden table. He broke his two front teeth. He came to me spitting out the teeth and blood. I made him wash her mouth and applied a cold pack on it. But he was crying in pain. They are adult teeth. I am so worried about whether they could be fixed or not. I am planning to take him to a dental consultation nearby Waterloo. This is his first dental visit. He is totally freaked out thinking about the dental procedures. How will I convince him? Can someone help me out with some tips?

Go visit the dentist, meet them. Hopefully they have experts in pediatric dental who can make it a fun intro & alleviate fears. Just get there. Don't be surprised if they quiz you & child. They have to screen for abuse. I know! Sad! But its their job. My son knocked a baby tooth 30 years ago & I was shocked they were screening for abuse. He jumped up & down on the bed & teeth hit window sill. Permanent teeth- you've got to go.

Assure your son that as a responsible loving parent, it is your duty to take good care of him. Do not let his fear dictate your behavior. This is non negotiable.
Ask him what specifically is he afraid of?
Assure him that nobody is going to do anything to inflict pain. the most painful part was over when he hit the table. Say it with a smile & a hug.
