All On 4

Has anyone had an implant procedure called "All On 4"?

If so please tell me if you had success with this treatment plan.

After 2 dentists have done a great deal of damage to my 6 front teeth, it has been suggested to me that I have all of the teeth in my upper jaw extracted and replaced with an "arch" which is anchored on 4 implants and replaces all of my teeth in my upper jaw.

Given my unfortunate experience with 2 dentists, I'm somewhat leery of doing anything as final as the All On 4 procedure.

I really need to know if this will work and what the draw backs might be.

I have also had some of my molars extracted after they were broken off by a dental prothesis - more bad dentists.

This is getting ridiculous.

You might research dentist who do this procedure and see who has good outcomes-no complaints etc

Hi Linda. I am in the final process of having the "all on fours." My problems started with the simple breaking of a crown. When they tried to pull the crown off, the tooth came with it along with a "floater" and another crown next to that. I waited too long to do anything about it and started grinding my bottom teeth down to almost nothing because it threw my bite off.
Anyway, I opted for the all on fours. I have the temporaries right now, and am two week out from getting the permanent ones. From the very beginning, I have had no problems whatsoever. Probably because of my dentist. He gave me the usual prescriptions for pain and I never had to take a single pill. The last three hours of stitching my gums up were done without Novocaine, because it wore off after ten minutes. Even that didn't bother me. I, personally would recommend it to anybody, but as I said...it may be completely due to the dentist. I have never been squeamish about the dentist, but this guy goes above and beyond.
Do your due diligence when choosing a dentist, but I'd say DO IT!

Hi Linda, My friend Rebecca had this dental procedure months ago and so far she has no problem with this all on 4 dental procedure. I guess the problem with you is you need to find a very good dentist that will do the procedure to you. If you want I can ask my friend more about it. I can also ask her about the name of her dentist or the clinic where the procedure was done. If you are interested just send me a message to let me know and I would be very happy to help you.
