Adult Bedwetting Community Group
A place for adults who still have problems wetting the bed to talk about their feelings, to discover solutions, and to talk about life in general.
Hi all, so in a couple of days I'll be admitted to hospital for a procedure on my lower back. I've been told they'll likely use a catheter during the actual operation but given there'll be about a week stay involved I'm not exactly sure how to deal with my bladder problems while staying overnight?
I can't see why they'd have any problems with bringing your own absorbent wear or if they'd even provide their own protection but anyone who's had experience with this before would be great to hear from!
I know they have waterproof beds but I'd still rather not take the risk of wetting the bed and having to change beds or get up when I'm supposed to be resting to change the sheets, especially if I have to do so at an early hour of the morning... Thoughts???

Hello everyone IAM back in the mental health unit at hospital I've been sectioned under the mental health act for my own safety my daughter as been taken into care

Let us know how it goes for you.
@Alphagb: Firstly, I hope the surgery went well! I probably won't be able to wear one on the table as they're operating on my lumbar spine and those style seem to sit quite high. Checked out that site, Betterdry are actually my preferred choice and have tried the crinklez once as a free sample. Ended up getting Molicare Premium Maxi Slip Plus as what was available. Have you tried the North shore own brand? Their claim of a 6000ml+ absorbancy if true would be perfect for overnight use! Thanks :)
But! Since then many factors have improved, better nerve response, less narcotic meds, bladder function/urinary retention settling down. In fact it's been almost a week of consecutive dry nights, been a long time since the last dry week! Even braved sleeping without wearable protection the last couple nights. Was so happy actually waking up to go last night!
Hope I haven't spoken too soon, still on the road to recovery and still happy to join discussions here, maybe even as an ex-bedwetter haha. Thanks for the kind support guys! :)
If you don't mind my asking, exactly what was won't with your back? Herniated disk? Spina stenosis? Just wondering what was the diagnosis to begin with.
Still occasionally wetting the bed but much less, 0-2 times a week at worst. Thanks for the support!
