Old Issue seems to have come back

New to group.


I was a chronic bedwetter from about 6yrs to about 17.  Real bad, every night and sometimes more than once a night.  Been to many doctors and prescribed many meds and nothing worked.  Finally doc said it is genetics and i'd grow out of it.  Eventually it slowed way down around 17 years old.  By the time i went to college it only happend about a dozen times and half were because i was drunk.  From 21 to 30 years maybe a dozen total times.  from 30 to 49 years old mayb 4-5 times half where i was drunk and a few out of the blue.  


In past month it happend 3 times.  I feel great, health is great work out every day.  I feel like i'm in best shape of life. 


Is it possible that this old issue can reappear like this.  Kinda freekin out about it.  After the frist time, i couldn't sleep for next 2 days i was so anxious. 


I usually urinate about 2-3 times a night but that is nothing new.  I just didn't wake up a few times.

You should really see a doctor. It could be related to an enlarged prostate, diabetes type 2, or various other ailments that come with age.

I probably should, just really don't feel like going. Maybe I'll see how the next month goes. I hate going. I can actually rationalize what happened, lol.
The first time i had been drinking even though i went to bed at 9 and woke up at 2 to go to bathroom, I was totally sober no hang over but went back to bed and it happened sometime between 2 & 6.
The second and third time i think I was overly anxious about it. I'm hoping that is the case. I'll see how the next month goes before i make a decision.
My sister 54 just got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Maybe that is genetic but don't know.

Sounds like you’re wetting around once a week then. You may want to protect your mattress.

After the 2nd time my wife bought a mattress protector. My mattress is one of those foam type and was like a freakin sponge. Unbelievable. I'm actually kinda nervous as we are going on a trip and will be in a hotel for a week. Thinking of maybe wearing something but feel a bit awkward.

to see a doctor. Which i may do. I think i'll just sit tight for a bit maybe a month and see what hapennes.

There is nothing wrong with having to wear some extra protection to bed, If you wake up dry, that is a good thing, but I know how unpredictable our bladders can be. Talk to your wife and see if she is ok with you wearing a diaper to bed for a bit until you can get to see your doctor. Yes, they can be awkward, but much better than waking up in a wet bed, I would recommend the NorthShore Care Overnight, or at least a lite brief.

Yeah i probably should. I am leaving for a week trip with family and in a hotel and i'm freakin about what could happen. How embarrsassing would that be in front of teen kids and wife and having to tell the hotel to change the sheets. I was thinking about wearing some at least for the trip. Of course i'd have to do it without anyone knowing which probably wouldn't be so hard.

If you let the hotel know before you arrive, they will generally protect the mattress.

Yes, it can happen. I was wet as a kid, slowly dried up and stopped at about age 17. Totally dry from 18-20, and then just occasional accidents in my 20s. After I turned 30 it came back seriously again, and I'm in sister's at night for 7 years again.

Update, went on 6 night hotel stay Chattanooga/Nashville. No issues but wore protection just in case which eased my nerves a ton. My wife new of issue and protection but teen kids didn't so i had to do some sneaking around a bit. So far it has been about 14 days since last issue. If anything happens, I'll let you all know. Thanks for support.
