Oh god! Just woken up with very wet nappy and very wet bed. Not looking forward to speaking to housekeeping people in the morning! One more night to stay!

I always ask for mattress protection, which is routine in most hotels [many now protect all beds]. But I also take along one of those sheet protectors that you can sleep on directly. I have a plastic card and bracelet that says ""Enuresis" in case they think it's too much beer! If a sheet gets wet I take it off and leave it on the bathroom floor for laundry. Hotels are used to the problem: and seem to welcome advance warning!

how did it go for you?

I left a note for the housekeeping people apologising and later when I returned to my room they were cleaning it, had remade the bed and had put a plastic sheet on the replacement mattress. I apologised again and the housekeeper simply said 'no problem'. So that was all OK. Next time I will make sure I bring or ask for a plastic sheet.

At least they replaced the matteras when I wet the bed at a hotel they just remade the bed with a clean sheet over the still damp matteras. It was only when I climbed in bed that the dampness soaked through the sheet. Since then I always take my own protection.
