So obviously night time accidents aren't the best for sleep interruption, but I've realized lately that I tend to feel better in the morning after a solid sleep and wetting overnight rather than actually waking up around 5 times to get to the toilet.
So in a way nocturia seems to be more bothersome than staying asleep and having an accident.
Does anyone else feel the same way?

I've just been updating my profile information because I had a birthday last week, and so I'm now 25 instead of 24. It doesn't feel any different though!Just so you all know a bit about me: I suffer with anxiety and occasional panic attacks, and sometimes I do an accidental wee in bed while I'm asleep. Now I'm a year older than this time last week I can report that nothing has changed, although...

In 2013 I had an accident resulting in spinal injury at the base of my neck with paralysis from there down, spasticity (muscle contractions and spasms) and double incontinence. Both my anus and my urethra have been left closed except with manual intervention. I hardly ever pass urine via the usual route (I have a suprapubic catheter passing directly into my bladder about 2 inches below my...

Yes, sleeping pills can help although I find they become less effective the more reliant you become on them over time. I've had general sleep issues for a long time, it wasn't until the nerve damage in my lower back that I had bedwetting issues. Can relate to it taking time to accept the problem.
Yes! Definitely better to wake up if it's only once or twice, even more! But when such a lack of sleep occurs that you reach a point it's severely affecting your waking life and you just don't wake up (regardless how refreshed you feel in the morning), it is a relief knowing at least you got a solid sleep :)
I still feel embarrassed and generally keep it under wraps but did find that telling certain friends has been helpful to start to overcome the awkwardness :)
Bottom line, neurological damage isn't fun, since had neurological sleep disorders, neurogenic bladder, partial loss of sensation in the legs, nerve pain... Glad this group exists to get other people's experiences :)
I wonder if I didn't have hypersomnia I'd stay asleep and be able to deal with accidents in the morning but I almost always wake up middle of the night, does anyone else find the same?
