I have also used both of those. I have found Bepanthen best for curing a bad nappy rash problem and Sudocreme, which I find less greasy, better for general protection or if I get the start of some nappy rash. On a day to day basis I try to make sure I wash and dry my skin carefully and use a good quality baby talc rather the cream.

What I have found best that works for me is Walmart brand of diaper rash cream. I use the purple cap one that contains 40% zinc and then I put a heavy coating of powder over it so that it doesn't stick to the diaper. You will only find this in the pharmacy/personal hygiene area at Walmart. They don't stock it back with the other baby diaper rash creams.

Your approach to taking care to wash and dry along with baby talc is the basic way to help prevent diaper rash, the other thing which is very hard for me is to actually drink lots of water. The less acid in your urine the less chances of diaper rash.

OnlyGod1st is right, you should drink plenty of water, especially during summer. It's a kind of weird to say "drink a lot" because if you drink a lot, you wet a lot too but it's necessary. It's also good for you kidneys.

When you change your diaper try to stay a bit "bare bottom" after cleaning, your skin needs to breathe a bit.
I usually do this before getting diapered for the night and while having my breakfast the following day (I'm sitting on a bed pad just in case).
