hello to all. my name is LAuren, im 24 years old and ive been a member of this group for quite some time now. i originally joined this group in hopes of connecting with others who share the same problem and seek comfort in the knowledge that im not alone and also to offer my own support and advice to others as needed. i feel i have been remiss as i was very active when i first joined this group and under the plague of almost constant wet nights. but along with any relief from wet nights i was absent from this site. as if i no longer needed it. ive had brief periods of time in which i was dry for a few weeks to even a couple months at a time. for reasons unknown to me from april of 2012 to just a few weeks ago i had just experienced the longest "dry spell" of my life. i thought it was gone forever. i thought it was finally over. so i stayed away from the site. almost as if i came back here, my problem would return. i stayed away, avoided the emails tried to forget this problem was ever a part of my life....but a few weeks ago it returned. and so did longings to be comforted and return to this site. i thought i didnt need it anymore. but i do. and i apologize for abandoning you all the way i did. if ever i am again freed from this problem, whether it be for a brief or extended time i promise to keep visiting.
a little back story for those who dont know me:
ive never known the reason behind my nighttime secret...my parents told me that they had me checked out as a child, that i dont have a small or underdeveloped bladder, ive never had any real trauma happen that could explain it...its always just been a part of my life. i was born four months premature and was 2 pounds 2 ounces at birth BUT had no medical problems and grew up to be a healthy woman with the exception that ive wet the bed my whole life since i was a small child. i just always kind of attributed it to the fact that i was premature..
since the last time i visited this site i have entered into a relationship with a wonderful man. in 11 days we will have been together for a year. we live together and have been for about 8 months, naturally sharing a bed.. when i moved in i was in the middle of a dry spell. i was convinced i was done with it. i did explain to him my "former problem" though, and him being the man he is accepted it completely and was so very understanding. it really was never brought u until a few weeks ago when without warning, the dry spell broke and problem came back with a vengeance and i am once again humiliated by the fact that i wear diapers to bed. he is still very understanding and makes me feel so much better. i still feel like a broken person btu its easier to cope with him by my side.
as ive said before, ive never known what was behind my nighttime wetting, and havnt brought it up to a dr in years due to embarrassment, but i wonder if i didnt accidentally stumble upon my answer. ill try to explain and hope u can keep up. i have untreated sleep apnea (yes i know its very dangerous and i will most certainly get it dealt with) due to enlarged tonsils. i cant explain the loooong dry spell, but about a month ago i came down with tonsillitis. very very bad. it was almost immediately after getting sick with tonsillitis that the wetting came back. very recently i read online that enlarged tonsils can CAUSE sleep apnea or bed wetting or BOTH. which would explain me perfectly. buuuut every site that talked about it was referring to children. not adults. i dont know if its because its rare in adults? or most people get it dealt with before adulthood? i really dont know. but it did say that getting your tonsils and adenoids taken out could CURE the sleep apnea AND the wetting the bed.........is this true? has anyone heard anything about this before now? any responses would be greatly appreciated!! im so very sorry again for abandoning you all, and for writing so much. i will once again be active on this site. if you have made it this far and read this much, u r truly a special person and i thank you so much.

Hi Lauren, that is so thoughtful of you:-) just like you I wet my bed its been frustrating for a long 26yrs I am scared to be in a normal relationship you give me hope that one day I'll meet someone who will love me for who I am. I don't have any medical reason to explain my bed wetting,I get the dry spells too for months then it happens again. You know that feeling of betrayal? I get that all the time. I tried to join Australia embarrassing bodies they rung me once asked me usual questions they said being international student my health care cover would be an issue.
