I got a letter saturday telling us the parenting/training classes for foster care will begin in the summer. and on monday i got news that I may have 14 month old twins in my custody within a couple of weeks, due to the kinship process.
they will do a home assessment and a background check. so it is wait wait, hurry up and wait..
do i go ahead and quit my job? i don't really like my job, my husband can more than support us.. it's like i am holding on to this job til something else pans out with getting a child... i am so confused about what to do and when to do it. i think i should just take a huge leap of faith into the unknown, but i am so afraid of regrets...

I'd keep the job and use the money you make meanwhile to welcome the new babies with an awesome nursery!

You don't need to quit till you are sure they are coming do you?Can the classes be taken after hours?Was that the problem?

no the problem is i am very anxious.. i feel like i am goin stir crazy waiting for SOMETHING to give, to start, to end..
my company downsized, changed my job duties to something i don't like. that is what started this whole thing. it has been put on my heart to try and foster children. i have never had any of my own and i figure maybe i was meant to take care of other people's for a while.. so when my job jacked me around, i figured it was time to finally listen to my heart (I hope it was God) and apply for fostering.
it has been a freakin roller coaster ever since.

sounds like the job and the fostering are seperate issues that got balled into one because of timing. I would take the two things seperately and deal with the most pressing issue first - the job. If your husbands job supports you fine and you don't like it fostering or not look at the reasons you stay and decide from there if you want to leave now or when kids come. Weigh your reasons and options and do the best for you, your health and sanity. I know what it feels like when the wheels are spinning and your not going anywhere. Feel free to hit me up anytime

Just be patient,the other advice was good from Chris333 .Work out what you really want and go for it.
I haven't spoken to my bm for almost 3 mths now and there is nothing I can do about it.My point is you sometimes have to be patient in life.I thought this sort of situation would kill me but it has given me
time to think about what and who are most important in my life.

I am praying constantly... I guess just my human nature is trying to interpret what may or may not happen instead of resting in the knowledge that God is in control, and it is His will that will surpass all others. I met with the birth mother last night, she told me i needed to put on the paperwork that I was a family friend instead of a cousin of the father, due to the fact that he is wanted by the law. well in the spur of the moment i did.. but whew!! conviction conviction conviction!! there is no guarantee I will get her children or any others for that matter. But i know that i know bearing false witness is WRONG no matter what, and God cannot bless a lie. so i am calling her today and telling her I will not lie, and if that means I don't get the babies (even tho I want them so bad, to take care of while the parents straighten their lives out) then oh well. it just means God has something different planned. it may mean tears and pain or extreme joy, but either way, His way is always the right way.
