My hubby wants a baby desperately for 11 years but does not want to do anymore fertility treatments or adopt.
He wants to be alone and live alone.
I want to adopt but can I while still married and hope one day he will accept the child or not?
Neither of us were church-goers at the time, but we turned to God and learned to pray together. We found immediate relief in our conversations with God and through time, He guided us through this tragedy. Not only did we find peace and comfort, He provided guidance and encouragement and brought us closer together as a couple. We grieved together, and received direction towards adoption. We were not alone and we realized that God didn’t want us to be alone.
Through our relationship with God, we were both directed towards adoption. Through prayer our marriage was blessed, and we then had a bond that we had never had before. It was one of the greatest blessings we have ever received. I don’t know what I would have done without such a loving shoulder to lean on for strength and love.
Only two years later, we were holding a precious newborn son in our arms. Adoption was the way to go for us! It felt like our family was now complete. There was never any doubt in our minds that this was the right thing to do. And to this day, we are continually blessed by God and our beautiful son. I encourage you to be prayerful in your marriage and reach out to God for direction. You just never know what He has in mind for you and your husband until you ask Him. And you never know, maybe your husband will change his mind. :)
