Being an adopted child from waaaay back I will suggest this. The birth parents can not search by law for you , but ...you can regester on adoption search boards and may find them sooner or later. I will also say this...be careful of what you wish for...I found my birth mom and it wasn't what I wanted to find. Let me know if I can help you more..

I hope I can help by saying, I't was by chance that I went w/ an open adoption and was able to choose two wonderful people for my child and wonderful amazing people to help me along the way, so that everything ran smoothly. I was in a situation @ the time that if it was a closed adoption, I maybe would have gone that route as well. It was the frame of mind I was in. When you young and find yourself in a difficult circumstance you make decissions you don't think are going to affect anyone to much down the line. I'm not speaking for them or making excuses, however just trying to give a maybe reason to this side. I truly hope you find awnsers.

Thanks for the advice. I've been on some sites and found out there names, but that was the extent. My father. Adoptive. I feel has always been very open abt the fact they were just too. young and couldn't support a baby... I just am dealing with physical and mental issues now that I am 24 and seeing my friends and sister have babies... its hard to wrap my mind around.

wow i'm sure you are in a place in life wanting so many awnsers that I hope you find. You seem to be such a beautiful girl. Wow 24 can be a difficult time in life, was for me. My parents were deceased by the time I was 18, so I know how hard it can be w/out parents that love u unconditionally. I'm in no way saying I know what you are going through, cause I don't. There are serveral reasons they wanted it closed. They could have been told that was the only way, or at the time as Cali said the were in the state of mind they were doing the right thing and they may have thought you would never forgive them for what they did, there are serveral senoures here. I was adopted at two months old, and I am married to a birthmother who gave her daughter up. It was not her choice to do that her mother made her give this baby up. After we found her we learned that she was adopted by a family my mother in law knew and she had, had contact with this family the whole time. My wife never knew anything or had seen a picture of this girl. And when we did find her we discovered my mother in law was doing everything she could to stop the relationship between my wife and her daughter. It seems to me that you are really struggling with your indeinty and knowing who you really are. Is that a fair statement? I never thought about it from a birth mothers perspective, I know they were very young and my adoptive mother couldn't meet my north mom when I was born bc she felt guilt as though she was taking me... I know they were probably doing it fir my best interest. I am having a lot of identity issues, I think I have always had bit when my sister, who is biologically related to my adoptive family, began having children it made mequestion what they were like, ny birth parents. I don't know if read the bible or not but this help me a bunch with my identey problems and even now i'm 40 I and know my birth mother i still read this verse about twice a week. Psalms 139; verse 13-15 and it says: For you created my inmost being you knit me together in my mothers womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, NIV Translation. As far as the sister goes I know what you mean I had a brother eight years older than me and I felt the same way you do. But you have gave alot of joy to your sister and adoptive parents, I hope that life has been good to you, and your adoptive parents have been good to you. Have you found your birth parents or made contact yet?

there could be so many many reasons
they may have not been advised properly or even know the conetations of their actions
