Empty, Hurt, and Confused............

When I finally located and contacted 2 half sisters I was elated. One of them emailed me once a week. Then when they said that they wanted to come and visit I got really excited. Who wouldn't? I had been searching for over 30 years to get to that point in my life!!! BUT, I kept telling myself not to get my hopes up too much, because things can change. Then when they emailed me their flight planes I KNEW that the dream of meeting them was actually going to be coming true. I could hardly stand it!!!!! When they were here for 4 days in June I was so amazed at the whole thing.
Meeting them, sharing with them their childhood, finding out more about my birth mother, looking so much like one of them....it was amazing!!!!
Now I don't know what to think. I'm hurt and confused by it all. It has been almost 2 months. I have emailed one sister 2 times and have yet to hear back from her. The other sister, who I have had the most contact with before we met, has only emailed twice, the last being 2 weeks ago.
When they were here, and also in emails, happiness seemed so real. I don't know what to think now. Is it me, or what?
I'm really confused and hurt and don't know what I'm feeling anymore!!!

Fraid I don't know much about reunions. Could it be that you all had a bit of a "honeymoon" thing going on at your place? If so, maybe it's just a rebound time for your sisters. It's hard to imagine that they would go to all the trouble of visiting and then simply disappear forever.

If your like me at all, you'd be worried about whether they liked you or not. And when I'm worried my mind goes nuts with imaginings.
Maybe a little more time for the emotional dust to settle?
Wish I could be of more help. What you did took great courage.

it confuses me too,i have two brothers that i never met but we were writing each other,all of a sudden it just stopped,i never found a reason for it.

I found mine that were not supposed to even exist when looking only for med records. Shock on both sides. 2 full, 7 half, 1 still we cant find. I flew interstate to meet and all went well, but only close to my yougest sister. and in touch with her. Seems others dont even speak if they pass on the street except for my 2 full. Never heard from them again. Like to find the other missing one who was put into an orphange, but my little sis has been loojing for years and now so have I. He will have no idea of me either. All roads go nowhere. But my little sister and I often e mail and phone. Strangely she doesnt get on with rest either. And they feeel like strangers to me.

just going from, my experience the siblings were happy amd wanted to meet me but I could see that it wasn't easy for them at all.Perhaps the reality of meeting you became a bit overwhelming and they are just getting used to it.I met mine in June and it has taken till Tuesday for contact from my sister.Maybe just be patient.I had given up hope it has taken her almost 2mths to contact me.She sounded very positive though.So don't stress too much at this point give them time to adjust and then send them a chatty email and see what happens.I understand how you feel.
