Strattera????

My son has been on strattera for 3 months and it hasnt helped at all. He was doing great on adderall but he lost too much weight and he had a belly ache all the time and I just hate that. Now he eats normal. He is so precious and I love him so much. I just want to do whats best for him. Any advice????

My son had trouble with both strattera and adderall (losing weight and getting sick). Concerta worked really well for him (his weight has been steady) but he struggles with taking pills so now we use the daytrana patch. It has been very good for him. I know what you mean about wanting to do what's best. It's so hard to see your kids have trouble. Good luck! spinmom

My son has been on strattera, concerta, adderall and a few more I've lost track of. None of them seemed to help much...many made him zombie like...all caused severe emotional outbursts...all caused him to loose weight (at 11 he only weighs just over 50lbs) and now I find out not only do these pills cause weight loss they also stunt the growth!! My son will now start middle school at an unbelieveable height of 49.5 inches tall!!
I would just advise you to get as much information as possible on any drug your doctor wants to perscribe and then do more research on your own. This stuff is SERIOUS medication that doctors are handing out to children as if it were candy!!
