Son kicked off school bus

Ok, so I'm still waiting on my son'r referral to to be evaluted for tourette's syndrome and ADHD. Well, today he was suspended from the school bus for three days. They have been threatening this for a while because he just cannot behave. So, what am I to do? Do I punish him for getting kicked off? I just wish this process wouldn't take so long....

if hes been diagnosed with something that would cause him to act however he did then i dont think it would be fair to punish him, since it isnt really his fault. just my opinion :)

Right, but he's not diagnosed yet. Even though the teachers, his regular doctor and myself are pretty 100% certain that he will be, we still have to wait for the official diagnosis. And I was told once he's diagnosed they aren't allowed to kick him off because it's discrimination, but that they have to put him on "the short bus" so to speak. It's all this in the mean time crap that I'm sick of. It's just really frustrating.

And the reason I'm not sure of the punishment is because 1, I don't think it's fair to punish him for something he can't control, and 2, I don't want to send the message that its ok to get kicked off the bus, he prefers for me to drive him anyway, but it's just not practical for me at this point in time.

My son was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 4 years old. I know he has a disability, but I don't want him to use that as an excuse to not be the best he can be. I do punish him for misbehavior because I read somewhere that children with ADHD need more structure than other children in order to excel. My son is 8 now. He is not on any medication, but I give him coffee every morning. He maintains about a C in conduct, but he does have his times of struggle expecially after a holiday break. He knows he has ADHD, but I tell him we all have our cross to bear & that is his. He will just have to learn how to control it as he gets older.
