ADHD / ADD Support Group
Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and attention deficit disorder (ADD) are more common than you might think. It is a syndrome that exhibits symptoms such as hyperactivity, forgetfulness, mood shifts, poor impulse control, and distractibility. Join others who suffer from these conditions and share your experiences.
Some coping strategies that work, if I can implement them: setting the alarm on my cell phone to remind me every few hours what time it is. Otherwise the entire day (and night) will go by with nothing to anchor me to the time. I fritter entire days away. Reminders from people that I trust, for example a call to remind me that I have an appointment, or that its time to leave for the appointment or I'll be late. For some weird reason, I can provide this support to others with ADD with no problem. I set my alarm for whatever time they need a call, and I follow through on it with no struggle. Hmmm...guess its easier to do it for someone else than myself...Good luck, Fashion. I encourage you to continue reaching out for support like you did here. You helped me! I've never contributed to a forum like this, but your posting got me to do it somehow. ( :
